Magazine Dating Advice

The whole point of people searching for dating advice is to find something realistic that works for all sorts of people, but does magazine dating advice really help? I guess it all depends on what kind of lifestyle you choose to live and what you are trying to portray. Now I do believe that all dating advice is valuable although they are not all useful.

There are two types of dating advice. There are the ones that give personal based advice which enables others to relate, and there are those that give advice based on the “norms” of society. My question is who determines whether or not the “norms” of society are actually normal?

What is the difference between an average girl’s relationship and the one of Kim Kardashian? Really, other then it being public, there is no difference. Well, for some reason, it seems like their relationships are used as the guidelines for the society’s relationships. If you’re not doing what they are doing, then you not doing the right thing, it seems.

All in all, magazine dating advice do good at creating clones, people that refuse to use their own brains and that would rather live for the people, society. Now I have found magazines that do good providing good advice, but I’ve also found a handful that didn’t have any affect as well which is well needed to reach an audience.

When it comes to magazine dating advice, look for personal experiences and examples. It shows that the person writing the article is putting more than just ink on paper. It shows that the author truly cares about connecting with their audience, and for some reason, we do well to take the advice of people that we don’t know, but yet, still get a caring feeling.
